Log InWELCOME to Peer Tutoring at Messiah University!
Tutoring sessions take place in Murray Library in Suite 110, The Learning and Writing Center. If you have an appointment, please meet your tutor there. Tutoring sessions for Music Theory will take place in the High Center. Please contact your tutor for an exact location.
At Messiah University, there are multiple academic resources to help students build confidence, strengthen understanding, and succeed in courses. Whether working through a challenging concept, staying on track, or looking to take learning to the next level, our supports are here to help.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is available for students in Biology 170 and185, and Chemistry 101, 103, and 309. Student tutors provide review and activities for small group sessions, primarily in the evening, based on current course material. These Supplemental Instruction sessions occur in various rooms in Jordan and Kline.
Students looking for assistance specifically in Chemistry 105 can join in a Chemistry Help (CHELP) session that meets twice a week in the evening in Jordan.
Learning Center / Peer Tutoring appointments can be scheduled for individuals, pairs, or small groups. Our tutors specialize in multiple subjects including Psychology, Spanish, Economics, Music Theory, Philosophy, Anatomy & Physiology, as well as many courses for Nursing. Learning Center / Peer Tutoring appointments meet in Murray Library Suite 110. (can we drop ‘Learning Center’ and just call it Peer Tutoring?)
Support with computer science, cybersecurity, data science, mathematics, or physics courses, can be found with numerous CMP (Computer, Math and Physics) tutors available to assist. Tutoring for these subject areas occurs in Frey 351 or 166.
Guidance for writing needs from planning and outlining to drafting, editing, and revising essays and research papers is available at the Writing Center. Students meet one on one to receive assistance and feedback on assignments. Writing appointments meet in Murray Library Suite 110.
